How long does it take to design a logo?

The time it takes to design a logo depends on a lot of factors.  Assuming questionnaires and emails are answered promptly, from the first contact to finished logo design, usually, takes 1-2 weeks.

Do I have to have a business located in Scotland to work with you?
No of course not!  I can work with you from where ever you are based.  Conversations can be had through email, or skype if you prefer. All aspects of design will be discussed and you will be kept informed through every stage of the design.
Do you use any pre-made art work or clipart?

No.  InkSpike Studio has a no clip art policy.  All logos are designed from scratch.

What if I don't like any of the designs you come up with?

In the concepts stage, there will be 3-5 initial designs for you to choose from to refine further.  If none of these concepts jumps out as being the one, I will go back to the drawing board, until you are happy. InkSpike Studio is committed to providing you with a logo design that you are thrilled with.

How many designs will I receive?

You will have one main logo design, which is your primary logo, a secondary logo with slightly different positioning and usually a variant or icon.

The icon is an element of the design but used as a single mark.

What do I recieve when I purchase a logo from InkSpike Studio?

After your final designs are created you will receive a selection of digital files.

Source files – these include all design variations in .ai files, .eps files and .pdf files

Print files – all design variations in .ai files .eps files and .pdf files in CMYK format, these can be resized ready for printing

Web files – favicon file (this is the small icon used on website tabs in the search bar), basic Facebook cover using the primary logo, all design variations in .jpg files, transparent .png files and normal .png files.

.jpg files and .png files are supplied in the following sizes.

100 px, 250 px, 500 px and 1000 px

Mini brand board – a simple visual resource containing your logo colour hex codes and typeface names

Logo guidelines pack – a.pdf containing usage guidelines for your primary logo design.  It is important to stick to the guidelines as incorrect placement can be detrimental to your brand.

Mood board – (optional) a collage featuring some of the images you collected in the discovery stage of the logo design.

I would like to pay in installements, is this possible?

Yes.  There are payment plans for all brand identity packages.  Good design is essential to making your brand stand out, and should be available to everyone.  If you would like to make payments over several months this is not a problem, and you won’t be charged extra for the using this option.  There will be a set of milestones in the project and before each is completed the next installment would need to be made.  If you would like to find out more, just drop me a message.

How long does it take to design a website?

There is no definite answer to this, but I aim to have your website up and running in about 4-6 weeks.  This depends on how promptly email conversations are responded to and whether relevant files are obtained within the specified time.

Do you write website copy?
No.  InkSpike Studio is a design service, not a copywriting service.  If you would like copy added to your site, this needs to be supplied when asked for during the design process.  It is a good idea to have a plan of the copy you would like included before the design starts. If the copy is not ready then lorem ipsum (placeholder text), will be added where appropriate.
Do I need to provide images for my website?

Ideally yes, if the images belong to you and are of a good standard, images can be supplied.

The images that are used on your website should be of excellent quality, as they will be judged by your potential clients, therefore if your supplied images are not suitable I will recommend some high quality, free to use, stock photography instead.

If you would like custom illustrations this will be added on as an extra service.

Do you check the website for SEO?
No.  I am not an SEO expert so I do not offer this as a service.  I do however pre-install on all websites an SEO plugin that assists with priming your website for search engine optimisation.  The plugin is used when writing copy on all your pages including blog posts and highlights when you have completed an element needed for good SEO.
Do you provide website hosting?
No.  I can recommend my preferred hosting provider, but InkSpike Studio does not provide the hosting.
I've heard WordPress can be complicated?

WordPress can be a little tricky to get to know, but generally, it is the designing of a WordPress site that can get frustrating, but you won’t have to worry about that, as someone else will be taking on that side of the project.

After the design is completed, a tutorial will be provided to show you how the site can be updated, how content is added, and a run down of the plugins that are installed, so you can go forward with confidence.

If your question hasn’t been answered or you’d just like to discuss your options, drop me a message, and I will get back to you ASAP.
